A group of photographers are given a list of 24 words and the instruction to take a photograph for each word. Taking the "picture is worth a thousand words" adage and turning it on its head, each year, words are selected for their multiple meanings and indeterminate definitions.
The grid format provides an interface for the photographers to visually define two dozen words in any way they see fit, and allows a broad range of interpretations.
Reading horizontally, the individual photographer's vision becomes apparent, while reading vertically allows a single word to be defined with a multiplicity of images. Literal representation of a word becomes as important as it's metaphorical counterpart.
